SeonagMacraeSeonag Macrae – Chief Executive Officer

Seonag Macrae is a seasoned executive with extensive experience working in the Ontario and British Columbia human services sector. Her recent experience spans large academic hospitals such as the Hospital for Sick Children in Ontario and a multi-service community agency, WoodGreen Community Services. Seonag has also served as the Vice-chair of the Board of Directors at Greater Toronto’s Surrey Place Center, a large provider of services to individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Seonag worked for six years at the BC Children’s Hospital and almost 12 years at the BC Institute of Technology. She received her BSN from UBC and holds an MS (Nursing) from the University of Portland and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, Richard Ivey School of Business.

Seonag has a passion for helping vulnerable people realize their full potential and a particular skill of developing networks and partnerships as part of the process of building inclusive communities.


Lynn Davies - webLynn Davies –  Vice President of Regional Operations

Lynn Davies joined Community Living BC in 2006 as a Quality Service Manager and became Director of Regional Operations for the Interior Region in 2009. In 2012 she expanded her directing roll to the North Region. Lynn has a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria. Before joining CLBC Lynn worked as a Regional Manager for the Ministry of Children and Family Development Community Living Service, and has over 25 years experience in the social service sector both in Canada and abroad. Her career has afforded her the opportunity to pursue her passion of ensuring people are supported to create good lives in their communities.


Richard Hunter - 2015 - webRichard Hunter –  Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer

Richard joined CLBC in April 2005 as Vice President, before its formal incorporation in July of that year. Prior to that he was the Chief Financial Officer of the Provincial Health Services Authority, and had served as the Vice President of Finance of Children’s and Women’s Health Centre. Richard’s early career began in manufacturing, transportation, engineering and retail, and he holds a chartered accountants designation in Canada, as well as the UK. His 15 years experience in health care in this province has included roles in finance, as well as responsibilities in information management/technology, facilities, and environmental services. Richard has extensive experience in governance change and led the merger of eight organizations (including Children’s and Women’s, the BC Cancer Agency, Riverview, the Centre for Disease Control and the BC Transplant Society) to create the PHSA BC finance function.


Jack Styan - 2015 - webJack Styan – Vice President of Strategic Initiatives

Jack joined Community Living BC in 2012 after working with people with disabilities and their families for 30 years. In 2011, Jack launched the RDSP Resource Centre – a social purpose venture committed to advancing financial security for Canadians with disabilities.

Previously Jack worked at Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network, where he led advocacy efforts to get the Federal Government to implement the Registered Disability Savings Plan and to get provincial governments to modify their disability assistance to encourage people to utilize the RDSP. Prior to joining PLAN, Jack was the Executive Director of Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion.

Jack is a former member of the Will & Estate Planning Council of Vancouver, is a former Board Member of Family Support Institute of BC and holds an M.S.W. from UBC.


Sara Miller - 2015 - webSara Miller – Vice President of Corporate Services

Sara joined CLBC in June 2015 in her role as Vice President, Corporate Services, responsible for Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities and Administrative Services.  Prior to joining CLBC, Sara served as Director, Business Transformation Operations  and Director, Organizational Development at Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).  She also served in leadership roles in organizational development and Human Resources at Citizens Bank/VanCity, Accenture Business Services for Utilities and Westech Information Systems, a former subsidiary of BC Hydro. Sara is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in bringing people together around positive organizational change.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster, London.


Jai-BirdiJai Birdi –  Director of Regional Operations, South Fraser Region and Provincial Assessment Centre

Jai has served as a Director, Regional Operations for CLBC since March 2012. In this role, Jai models leadership style that is open, respectful, and responsive. Since joining public service in BC in 1986, Jai has served in various capacities and roles in BC’s Public Service and Public Sector. Jai values respect, inclusion, and accountability and applies these principles for building more inclusive and welcoming communities.

Jai holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Simon Fraser University and Bachelor of Social Work from university of British Columbia.


Jody Stuart - webJody Stuart – Director of Regional Operations, North / Thompson Cariboo Region

Jody has been a resident of northern communities her entire life and completed her M.Sc. in Psychology from University of Northern BC. She brings over 15 years of consulting experience for a wide variety of community organizations and service agencies. Specific services have included the development of adaptive/agile leadership teams, large scale organizational change, stakeholder engagement, community governance, program and policy development, strategy and direction setting, process sustainability, performance management, negotiations, research and evaluation.


Jennifer Terwoord – Director of Regional Operations, Southern Interior Region

Jennifer has been part of the CLBC team since the very beginning, where she started as a front line staff member and then in 2009, became the Integrated Services Manager for the Kootenay Region. Jennifer believes in a strong team environment and supports her staff by working together to ensure that families and individuals are always treated fairly and with respect. Jennifer has been a positive role model throughout the Kootenays by helping to accelerate positive change in attitudes, awareness and acceptance of people with diverse abilities.


Bob Youssef – Director of Regional Operations, Vancouver Coastal Region

Bob has a Masters in Counselling Psychology and has been the QS Manager in Upper Fraser since 2013. He has been with CLBC since 2007 and has worked as an analyst and SCC previously. Prior to CLBC, he worked with children with Autism and also facilitated groups for children with developmental disabilities. Since joining CLBC, Bob has worked closely with his team in Upper Fraser to increase collaboration with the service provider network, and participated in numerous committees in key areas such as resource allocation, quality of life, and innovation.


Veronica Somers – Director of Regional Operations, Vancouver Island Region

Veronica has a Masters in Social Work and has been the CPD manager for the South Island since 2010. Prior to joining CLBC, she worked for 16 years at the Ministry of Children and Family Development, with the last 11 years as a Team Leader. Since joining CLBC, Veronica has helped develop the Planning Project, increased innovative uses of Individualized Funding on the South Island, strengthened relationships with Aboriginal communities and other organizations, and has lent her expertise to committees for the strategic plan refresh, STADD and Adult Guardianship.


Megan Tardif - 2015 - webMegan Tardif – Director of Quality Assurance

Megan has been Director of Quality Assurance at CLBC since February 2015 and previously served as Manager, Quality Assurance since April 2012. In these positions she has a leadership role in ensuring that supports and services are delivered in ways that are respectful, fair, responsive and enhance quality of life outcomes for individuals and families served. Megan has been a manager with CLBC since November 2005 and has held various management positions in the field and at head office during that time.


Karen Mackay – Director of People Services and Organization Development

Karen joined CLBC in August 2017 with over 18 years’ human resources / labour relations experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to CLBC, she served as Senior Manager, People Services at BCAA providing leadership, direction, and coaching through several major business initiatives. Her previous work experience includes municipal government and manufacturing. Karen is actively involved in the community serving various charitable programs that support women and children. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.


Ian Scott - 2015 - webIan Scott – Director of Information Technology

Ian has over 35 years of experience in the Information Technology sector with experience in engineering, sales and management. Prior to joining Community Living BC in 2006 he was with the TELUS Corporation as a Strategic Client Relations Director and Sales Executive. Ian is a graduate of the Executive MBA program from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He has been active in the volunteer community with Leadership Victoria, United Way and the Leadership and Management Development Council of British Columbia. Ian, together with his wife France have been foster parents for over 28 years.

Randy Schmidt joined CLBC in November 2014. Prior to this he served as Associate Director of Public Affairs at the University of British Columbia for ten years, and as a communications professional in a range of other education, non-profit and government settings in Canada and abroad. Randy has a passion for strengthening organizational communications to build positive relationships in support of CLBC’s vision for good lives in welcoming communities. He has a BA Honours in Economics from Carleton University, an MBA from the University of Ottawa and is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) with the International Association of Business Communicators.
