While The Citizen appreciates all writing contributions submitted, we reserve the right to edit content for accuracy, grammar and space.
We strive to maintain the integrity and voice of the author, so consideration is taken to maintain as much of the original article as possible. Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting in order to help the process:
- Stories will not be accepted that are less than 100 words or more than 500 words
- Please single space, with one space in between sentences
- No stories will be accepted that are discriminatory, promote hatred, or are slanderous
- Stories must be relevant to the readership of The Citizen
- Make sure to include the five W’s: Who is the story about? What happened or is going to happen? When does the story take place? Where does the story take place? Why did it happen or is it going to happen?
