MCFD and CLBC developing transition plan for children's services
On June 23, 2008, government announced changes in ministry responsibilities. Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) is now reporting to the Honourable Rich Coleman, the Minister responsible for the Ministry of Housing and Social Development.

New Policies for Individual and Family Support and Individual and Child and Family Support Planning
The new Individual and Family Support Policy provides information about the role of CLBC facilitators in providing individual and family support. The Individual and Child and Family Support Planning Policy outlines the content required in Individual Support Plans and Child and Family Support Plans and explains when plans are required for CLBC-funded supports. Innovation Funding Available for Family Governed Projects
During the 2008 – 2009 fiscal year, up to $300,000 will be available for family governed projects on a one-time only funding basis. Family governed projects are developed by small groups of families who, as a group, arrange and oversee individualized supports needed for their family members.
