CLBC Editorial Board – Online Application Form

Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) created an Editorial Board in 2013 made up of self advocates, family members and community living leaders from across B.C. Board members help to bring ideas, stories and feedback to CLBC communications, publications, projects and initiatives.

The Editorial Board is currently looking for:

  • 2 self advocates from Upper Fraser – Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope
  • 1 self advocate from Vancouver Coastal – North Vancouver, Richmond, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Sea to Sky Corridor
  • 2 self advocates from the North – Terrace, Smithers, Prince Rupert, Fort St. John, Quesnel

This is a one-year position for individuals who are eligible for supports and services from CLBC. Members receive a monthly board fee, and travel expenses for attending meetings in Vancouver.

Successful applicants will:

  • have a basic understanding and interest in the work of CLBC
  • have a interest in self advocacy and disability related issues
  • be comfortable speaking in front of a group
  • be friendly, flexible and like working on a team
  • have good listening skills
  • be respectful of other people’s ideas
  • show dedication to creating positive and supportive working relationships both in and outside CLBC

CLBC will help successful applicants learn the necessary skills and offer guidance to prepare and support them during their work with the CLBC Editorial Board. Travel to Vancouver three times a year is required.
