At Home Program
The At Home Program was developed to assist parents with some of the extraordinary costs of caring for a child with severe disabilities at home.
Children may be eligible for full program benefits or for a choice of respite or medical benefits. Eligibility is regularly reassessed.
The At Home Program provides assistance to families in two main areas:
Respite Benefits allow parents to choose appropriate care options for their child and family.
Medical Benefits provide a range of medical supplies and services that can be accessed by At Home Program participants.
This program is administered by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. For more information on eligibility requirements and how to apply, please visit the MCFD website.

At Home Respite Benefit
The At Home Program provides respite care for eligible children either in their home or at another location.
Families may choose the type of respite services that best suit their needs. The program does not cover respite services provided by any person who is a dependent of the family and lives in the same household, or who is a parent of the child.
You may choose to receive benefits through a monthly payment, or be reimbursed for respite expenses, and will make a written agreement with CLBC.
Parents are responsible for arranging for respite care, paying caregivers, managing their respite budget, and providing a record of respite expenditures.
For further information about respite, please contact your local CLBC office. For families receiving direct funding, the following list of resources may be of assistance to you in determining your tax obligations or obligations as an employer:
It is advisable that you contact a tax professional for information specific to your individual situation.
