Vacation and Paid Time-Off
Our staff enjoy a minimum of three weeks, progressing up to seven weeks paid vacation every year. In addition, staff are eligible for up to 70 hours of special leave per year.
Modified Work Week
To encourage and promote work-life balance, many roles at CLBC are eligible for a flexible work schedule, which may include compressed work weeks.
Hybrid Work Model
We recognize the importance of flexibility around where and how people work. This may include mobile working which involves working off-site from a location other than a primary, designated CLBC office space.
Deferred Salary Leave Option
Our Deferred Salary Leave Program allows staff to defer a portion of their salary to fund a future leave of absence of up to one year to pursue their interests and/or activities they have planned.
Competitive Benefits Package

Defined Benefit Pension Plan
The Public Service Pension Plan is a benefit CLBC staff members receive. Staff contribute to their pensions through automatic payroll deductions and CLBC contributes to pensions as well.

Maternity, Parental and Pre-Placement Adoption Leave Allowance
Leave allowances are available to support staff to focus on their new responsibilities as a parent. The leave allowance can amount up to 85 per cent of basic pay during the leave period.

CLBC encourages continuous learning and skill development for the benefit of staff and our organization.
- We offer opportunities to join learning sessions on a range of topics, including in the areas of self-development, leadership development, software, and health and wellness.
- Our Educational Assistance Program offers a percentage reimbursement for tuition fees and course-required book expenses for a course whose credits lead to a certificate, diploma or degree aligned with learning and development goals.

Long Service Awards

Making a Difference Award
The Don Philpott Making a Difference Award is an annual employee recognition award jointly sponsored by CLBC and the British Columbia General Employees’ Union (BCGEU). The award celebrates employees as CLBC’s most important resource and provides team members an opportunity to recognize the significant contributions of their colleagues.
