A Victoria-based group of neuro diverse athletes, the Spirit Orcas, have been nominated by an international organization, the World Open Water Swim Association (WOWSA), to be potential award recipients in part for their work to teach people of all abilities how to swim in open water. The WOWSA Awards is an annual recognition of the world’s open water swimmers, products, services and events in 6 different categories via a global online poll. The Spirit Orcas have been chosen by a WOWSA committee to receive votes from the public for the category of “Para Performance of the Year”. Voting is open until January 31, 2023.
