Pause for a moment and think about all the scenarios that you have read in this course.

Information incidents are any unauthorized collection, use, disclosure, access, disposal, or storage of information, whether accidental or deliberate.

Information incidents occur when there’s a violation of one or more of the five sharing principles:

  • Right Information
  • Right Person
  • Right Purpose
  • Right Time
  • Right Way

Privacy breaches occur when information incidents involve personal information.
