CLBC has a protocol for storing and disposing of old records. In this section you will learn how.
As previously stated in the section on storing personal information:
- Remember that any records created for individuals in CLBC-contracted services belong to CLBC.
- Storage must be in Canada. Back up all records and store in a secure location.
- For storage of old records that are not in your agency’s office, follow the instructions from your local CLBC office.
- Service providers who are shutting down their business or ending all contracts with CLBC are required to contact their local CLBC office. CLBC will provide directions with regards to all CLBC records.
- You must keep records until CLBC notifies you that you can destroy them.
