The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction has now published the final report from the external review of Community Living BC (CLBC)’s home sharing program. Commissioned by Minister Sheila Malcolmson in June, and conducted by Tamar Consultancy, the review outlines 29 recommendations to strengthen safety, quality of life and the long-term sustainability of home sharing.
According to the ministry’s information bulletin, “The review finds that B.C. is recognized as a leader in home sharing, and when done well, it is highly valued by individuals and families. The review also found that Community Living BC’s home-sharing standards align with best practices internationally.”
The ministry and CLBC will be working with partners to implement changes that enhance safety, support choice and maintain accountability within home sharing.
