What is Individualized Funding?
If you’ve completed your planning with CLBC and been approved for CLBC funding, you can use Individualized Funding (IF).
This option allows you and your family to direct and manage your services. Some people choose IF because it gives them more choice and flexibility to set up personalized, self-directed supports.
The amount of Individualized Funding you can get is decided the same way as funding for CLBC services. It’s based on your disability-related needs, the cost of supports and CLBC’s available budget.
After confirming your eligibility and finishing the Welcome and Planning process, a facilitator will help you decide your next steps. You can either work with CLBC staff to find a local provider or use IF to create supports that meet your needs.
You can also learn about another flexible, person-centred option for managing funding and services called a Person Centred Society here.
