CLBC Launches “Connections through Inclusion” Pilot to Support Indigenous Individuals with Diverse Abilities

Community Living BC (CLBC) is inviting Aboriginal Friendship Centres across the province to apply for a new pilot initiative: Connections through Inclusion for Urban Indigenous Individuals.

This initiative will fund selected centres to hire Community Connections Workers. They will support Indigenous people with diverse abilities who are, or may become, eligible for CLBC-funded services. The community workers will support individuals facing complex challenges, housing insecurity, and/or limited or no natural supports.

The program is part of CLBC’s commitment to Reconciliation and cultural safety. It offers Friendship Centres the flexibility to create culturally grounded, innovative approaches that build trust and improve access to services. It also supports centres in becoming pre-qualified vendors for future service delivery.

CLBC plans to award contracts to eight to 10 Friendship Centres for a year, with the potential for an extension depending on available funding.

The Call for Proposals is posted on the BC Bid website here (registration is optional). Responses are due by Monday, November 17, 2025.

CLBC invites BC Aboriginal Friendship Centres to consider applying for this initiative and welcomes them to register for a Virtual Information Session on Thursday, November 6, 2025 (10am-11:30am). To register, please email clbc.procurement@gov.bc.ca, (Attn: Sarah Endacott). CLBC will share details on how to attend with registered participants.
