Community Living BC has been recognizing those who make their communities more inclusive through the Widening Our World (WOW) Awards for 17 years. The awards are an opportunity to celebrate how far we’ve come together to build more inclusive and accessible communities for all people across B.C.
Nominations for the 2026 WOW Awards are now open!
We invite you to nominate a person or group in your community:
- who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in advancing inclusion and full citizenship of people with developmental disabilities in B.C.
- who advocates for and has made changes that have resulted in people with developmental disabilities having equal access to the same opportunities as everyone else in their community.
You can also nominate a place in your community:
- that is accessible, welcoming and inclusive for all people.
- where individuals with disabilities are seen in valued roles, like being an employee, volunteer, or other fully participating member of the community.

Please submit your nominations for the 2026 WOW Awards by Monday, April 6 at 5:00pm (PDT).
An evaluation committee including self-advocates, family members, community members and service providers will review all nominations and choose the 2026 WOW Award recipients in April.
Recipient will be announced on this page and shared on CLBC’s Facebook, Instagram and Bluesky channels. Award recognition and celebration events will take place in the Summer around the province.
