Jaimie Willows was presented with CLBC’s 2018 Making a Difference award by representatives from the CLBC-BCGEU Labour Management Committee.
CLBC recently presented this year’s Making a Difference Award to People Services Coordinator Jaimie Willows.
On top of her recruiting work, Jaimie administers CLBC’s health and wellness program, the “Gotcha” staff kudos program, and chairs CLBC’s staff Spirit Committee. She’s also known for cheerfully providing support to department colleagues.
“I am honoured to be recognized with the Making a Difference award this year,” says Jaimie. “It’s so meaningful to work for an organization that makes a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. I am proud that my work in People Services is a part of this.”
Outside of work, Jaimie has been a volunteer mentor with Job’s Daughters International, a leadership organization for girls aged 10 to 19, for over 20 years. She has held executive level positions in both the Burnaby and Surrey chapters, held provincial level committee positions, and maintains the jurisdictional website.
Each year, the CLBC award recognizes an employee who:
- Is actively involved in strengthening our communities;
- Is an exemplary team player – promotes a healthy, inclusive work environment, shows visible caring and concern for co-workers;
- Brings passion and commitment to their work;
- Shows respect for the families and individuals we support; and
- Exudes energy and enthusiasm for the community living vision and mission.
As part of the award Jaimie will be given the chance to direct a $500 bursary (a shared award between CLBC and the BCGEU) to a self advocate or group of her choice.
