Krystian Shaw’s monthly Kamloops Self Advocate newsletter tells the stories of people with diverse abilities across B.C.
Krystian was recently interviewed by CBC Radio to talk about his passion for the publication. “This is for people with disabilities, to spread awareness of what they can do, not what they can’t do,” he says.
Krystian has published the Kamloops Self Advocate newsletter on a monthly basis since September 2013. It is distributed in hard copy, by email and also shared on SelfAdvocateNet.com.
To give other people with diverse abilities the opportunity to generate new topics and ideas for the newsletter, Krystian has set up an advisory committee that meets every three months. You can click here to learn more.
As an active self advocate, Krystian has also sat on the CLBC Editorial Board which helps to ensure the perspectives of the people CLBC serves are represented in communications, publications and initiatives.
