Recognizing National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, 2025

On June 21, we join people in communities across the province and country in celebrating the traditions, cultures and outstanding achievements of Inuit, Métis, and First Nations communities. National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, a day that holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration.

At the beginning of June, CLBC’s Indigenous Relations team published two new guides, Respectful Engagement with Indigenous Peoples Guide and Territorial Acknowledgements Guide, in celebration of National Indigenous History Month. Read more about the guides here. Upcoming information sessions for these guides take place on June 24 and 26 to honour National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21).
