On July 25, Community Living BC (CLBC) presented Tami Logan, Supervisor of Employment Services at Inclusion Langley Society, with a Widening Our World (WOW) Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to advancing inclusive employment for people CLBC serves.

Out of over 50 nominations received this year, Tami stood out to the evaluation committee for her work helping people with developmental disabilities lead full and meaningful lives. She has supported countless people in finding employment, building confidence, and becoming advocates themselves. Through her dedication, she has transformed the way employers and communities view people with disabilities. Tami works closely with businesses to create inclusive job opportunities and regularly speaks at public events to promote awareness and education.

The award presentation took place outside Inclusion Langley Society, where Tami was joined by her team, people she supports, family, friends, and CLBC staff. The celebration included heartfelt speeches, a trophy presentation, and cake, honoring Tami’s many achievements.

In her speech, Tami said, “I’m incredibly honored to receive the CLBC WOW Award. Supporting people with diverse abilities in finding and maintaining meaningful work in the community is not just my job, it’s my passion. Every person deserves the opportunity to contribute, belong, and thrive. I’m continually inspired by the determination, talent, and resilience of the individuals I work with. This recognition is not mine alone—it belongs to everyone who has walked this journey with me.”

Annette Borrows, CLBC manager for employment, presented Tami with the award and praised her unique leadership style: “Tami is a chameleon leader. Sometimes she’s right beside you, doing the same work—taking weekend shifts, quietly supporting from the side. Other times, she’s behind you, encouraging staff to grow their skills. And when needed, she leads from the front, stepping up to advocate when advocacy is needed. She doesn’t take a lot of credit for herself. She’s a true advocate. CLBC is so pleased to publicly recognize the incredible impact she’s made.”

Jon Bartel, Inclusion Langley CEO, added: “Tami has been a dedicated member of Inclusion Langley for nearly 40 years, with a focus on employment services since 2009. Because of leaders like Tami, individuals across B.C. have access to meaningful jobs, friendships, and life experiences they might not otherwise have had. There’s truly no better word to describe her impact than ‘WOW.’”

The WOW Awards were created by CLBC in 2009 to recognize the people and places that go above and beyond to promote inclusion and full citizenship for the adults CLBC serves.  Tami was chosen as one of five 2025 WOW award recipients by a selection committee of self advocates, community members and CLBC staff who reviewed nominations from across the province.
