The L.I.F.E. Service
Service Cornerstones: Learning, Inclusion, Friendship and Employment
The L.I.F.E. Service provides support for people interested in employment who also want to connect to their community, pursue life-long learning and build meaningful relationships. Individuals can request the L.I.F.E. Service under “Supports to participate in your community” category with the goal of supporting people for a future, and a life beyond paid services.
The L.I.F.E. Service is Different
The L.I.F.E. Service measures the difference it makes in a person’s life beyond achieving goals. The service is driven by the people who use it, and reflects their strengths, rights and choices.
It is a service that:
- explores and creates personalized supports related to employment, community connection, relationships, and life-long learning.
- is offered throughout a person’s community. The number of hours, location, and type of support will adjust over time based on their changing goals and needs.
- is regularly evaluated by the individual to continually improve their service experience, as well as improve how the service works overall for everyone.
- makes a difference in an individual’s life by strengthening confidence and growing a network of natural support around them.
